Originally founded in Tel Aviv, the brand’s creative center moved in recent years to the heart of the Israeli desert, where the landscape, quiet, natural materials, and slower rhythm of life became an essential part of its identity and creative language.

Since its founding, VAS & CRAFT has built its reputation on traditional craftsmanship and close collaborations with some of the finest factories and workshops in Israel and Italy including factories that produce for leading luxury brands worldwide. The people behind the making process are an essential part of the brand’s identity. VAS & CRAFT holds deep respect and admiration for the artisans, pattern makers, leather workers, seamstresses, and craftspeople whose knowledge and hands bring each collection to life.

Focusing on a modern interpretation of classical objects, the result is a collection of timeless pieces shaped by precision, restraint, and attention to detail. VAS & CRAFT believes in slow fashion: mastering old techniques and honoring knowledge passed from generation to generation. About Rotem Gur Gilboa

Rotem Gur Gilboa, founder and creative director of VAS & CRAFT, graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, specializing in Jewelry and Fashion Design. During her studies, she completed an internship at the prestigious ENSAD (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) in Paris, focusing on textile design.

Rotem founded VAS in 2012 and has since collaborated with various designers and brands, presenting her collections at both New York and Tel Aviv Fashion Weeks. Her work is recognized for combining artisanal craftsmanship, natural materials, and a refined contemporary aesthetic.

In 2017, she opened the first VAS boutique in the heart of Tel Aviv, offering shoes, leather goods, clothing, and curated design objects.

In 2018, Rotem moved with her family to a small community in the Israeli desert and gradually relocated the creative center of VAS & CRAFT there as well. The desert environment became a profound source of inspiration for the brand influencing its pace, material language, colors, and philosophy of design. Today, Rotem continues to lead the brand between the desert and the city, creating collections that balance craftsmanship, timelessness, and modern life.
